The Forum on Female Sexual Medicine (the Forum) is an independent, student- and trainee-led organization dedicated to advancing education, advocacy, and community in Female Sexual Medicine (FSM). The field of FSM encompasses a wide range of medical conditions, treatments, and aspects of sexual health that are essential to comprehensive patient care, yet remain significantly underrepresented in medical training. We believe that knowledge of female sexual health is a critical component of comprehensive medical education and that all students and trainees should have access to high-quality, evidence-based resources and mentorship in this field.

Through education, the Forum creates accessible opportunities for students and trainees to learn from peers, mentors, and leaders in FSM through lectures, discussions, symposia, and other educational initiatives. Through advocacy, we work to increase the visibility and inclusion of female sexual medicine within medical curricula, residency training and research. Through community, we foster meaningful connections among students, trainees, educators, researchers, and clinicians who share a commitment to improving female sexual medicine. Together, we aim to empower the next generation of healthcare professionals to become knowledgeable clinicians, engaged advocates, and leaders in Female Sexual Medicine. The Forum was founded in May 2020 by Jen Romanello, MD.
