Talya Nakash

Class of 2027

Talya Nakash is an MD student at Cooper Medical School of Rowan University in New Jersey (Class of ‘27). She graduated from the University of Michigan with a major in Anthropology in 2015. Talya has been working in the public health sphere since that time and received an MPH in Global Health, with a concentration in Sexual and Reproductive Health, from Emory University in 2018. She worked for various international humanitarian organizations, which increased her passion for providing reproductive health care in emergency settings across the globe. Talya also spent time working at an FQHC in Brooklyn, New York before deciding to return to school to pursue a medical degree. She is interested in combining clinical medical skills with public health and advocacy in order to improve women’s sexual and reproductive  health outcomes locally and globally. Talya is passionate about combating the stigma surrounding women’s sexual pleasure and is passionate about abortion rights, immigrant health, and the intersection of human rights and healthcare. Outside of medicine and public health, Talya enjoys playing with her nieces and nephews, discovering new hikes, learning languages, traveling, swimming, and listening to One Direction.
