Aimee worked at an OB/GYN clinic in her gap year from master's degree to medical school. This is where most people write that they saw gaps in care, but she just a group of excellent doctors who wanted to advance their practice for their patients. To do this, they brought in Botox injections for certain medical conditions and BioTe pellets for a new form of hormone replacement therapy. These two therapies were quite new in the area, so it was very exciting to see it all rolled out! What really sparked her interest was that she was learning about a whole new world of not only medicine but also her own anatomy and physiology which she thought she already knew! She had no idea that the world of female medicine could be that vast. Getting in touch with Jen at Rush opened the doors even more when she discovered that sexual medicine is another field becoming established. She thinks The Forum brings together a really great group of individuals, and she can't wait to learn more herself and pass it along to others! Aimee is also working on research regarding postpartum depression and gestational weight gain. She developed an educational module for newly pregnant individuals to teach them about nutrition and weight gain in pregnancy and we are excited to see how it makes a positive difference!
