Elise Alberston (she/her)
Treasurer/Secretary
University of Illinois College of Medicine at Chicago
Class of 2028
Elise Albertson (she/her) is a second-year medical student at the University of Illinois College of Medicine in Chicago. She graduated from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign in 2023 with a major in Molecular and Cellular Biology and a minor in French. Her interest in sexual health began in high school, where she enjoyed pushing the boundaries of an abstinence-only sex education curriculum to educate her peers. In college, she served as president of the Sexual Health Peers student group, leading peer education workshops, distributing condoms, and working to destigmatize conversations about sexual health on campus.
After graduation, Elise worked as a medical assistant at Planned Parenthood of Illinois in Champaign. During this time, she deepened her commitment to sexual and reproductive healthcare, contributing to reproductive justice efforts through patient care, as well as through community engagement, and qualitative research with the UIUC School of Social Work. In medical school, she has been involved in community volunteering, Medical Students for Choice, and has loved exploring her interest in female sexual medicine through the Forum on Female Sexual Medicine and the Sexual Medicine Research Team. Outside of school, Elise enjoys playing intramural sports, swimming in Lake Michigan, and going on canoe trips.
