Imaan Arshad is an incoming first-year MD/MPH student at Northwestern University Feinberg School of Medicine (28'). She received her B.A. from Northwestern University in Neuroscience. She is passionate about improving health outcomes for maternal and child health, particularly among immigrant and women of color populations. As an undergraduate, she has been involved in menstrual equity and ecological restoration efforts. She is a medical assistant at Hamdard Health Community Clinic where she works with immigrant and refugee patients and is a research assistant in maternal-fetal medicine and public health. She is also the founder and co-president of iaso for immigrants, a nonprofit startup dedicated to connecting underserved immigrant women to reproductive, sexual, and mental health education and resources through a chat website with a language translation anonymous search engine. In her free time, she loves going for runs, volunteering at the forest preserve, reading, and trying new makeup looks.
