Rachel Sabnani (she/her) is a 2nd year medical student at Loyola University Chicago Stritch School of Medicine. She graduated from the University of Notre Dame with a major in Science Preprofessional Studies and minors in Constitutional Studies and Science, Technology and Values. After attending a Catholic university, Rachel realized her public school sex education had served her much better than many of her peers. Armed with The Vagina Bible by Dr. Jen Gunter and a nonjudgmental willingness to engage in uncomfortable conversations, she began to normalize dialogue about sex and pleasure amongst her friends. She hopes to continue this mission in her future relationships, communities and doctors offices. Rachel is particularly interested in making women’s health education and sexual medicine accessible to underserved communities, a mission that informs her work as a Period Education Project Period Pro, CommunityHealth Clinic Health Education Coordinator, Culturally Responsible Care and Leadership Program member and Community and Global Health Honors student. She recently shadowed our very own Dr. Rachel Rubin in Washington D.C. and is very excited to get more involved with The Forum and the Sexual Medicine Research Team to lessen the decades long gap between male and female sexual medicine research. Outside of medical school and extracurricular activities, Rachel is passionate about New York bagels and pizza, indoor cycling, cooking vegetarian, living sustainably, the Yankees, Notre Dame football and traveling.
